Warning: Whining Here
I'm not a happy camper. My rash is much worse and has spread from my face to my entire neck. My face and neck are red and swollen and I look horrible. Not only do I look horrible, but the itching is intolerable. Waiting for the long holiday weekend to see the doctor is difficult at best. But worst of all if not knowing what I'm allergic to and what it might mean when and if I do find out. I cannot live indefinitely feeling this miserable. I'm not doing, eating or using anything that I haven't been for a long time. I know one can develop allergies to things that have been no problem before, so it could be anything. I don't have a lot of hope that the doctor will be able to find out what I'm allergic too, even... and I'm worried about that to.
End of whining. I will try to regain my usual cheerful attitude before I post again.

Alice, you are one of the least whiny people I know - I think you deserve to have a whine right now. I don't like to hear you are so miserable though.
I love the writings of Sri Chinmoy, thanks for sharing.:love:
I hope the rash goes away...quickly!
I think you are entitled to a whine. I just had a rant myself.
 A little whining would seem to be in order here!
Goodness! I hope you get some relief soon!
My daughter came here to Iowa from North Carolina and within a few days burst out into a terrible rash/hives. Maybe a coincidence or maybe something from too much rain perhaps. You might consider going to the ER or Urgent care if it continues to get worse. You have already had enough to deal with and you are probably worn out a bit. Please take care.
@Gill_L - I agree with you. She is really rather brave and uncomplaining.
I just pray it isn't an allergy to flowers!! You would really be in a dilemma then!! lol Seriously, I am sure your resistance is down from all the stress you have had of late, and this could be just a temporary thing. Hopefully, you will be able to find out tomorrow!
Could it be poison ivy? I had the worst case of my entire life last year. It was everywhere, and my skin would practically twitch the way a horse's skin does when a fly lands on it. It was on my face, neck, arms, hands, and a belt around my waist, among other areas. I had prednisone for it, I think, but it wasn't enough/strong enough, and so I got it back, only worse; a rebound case. I really did not think I was ever going to be able to kick it. I hope you get some relief soon. I know how horrid that can be. Just make sure that it is totally gone by the time the medication is finished.
I hope you get to feeling better and find out what caused your rash.
I'm so sorry that this is happening to you. I'll be glad when you can get to a doctor and the reason can be found.
I know that sometimes we can become allergic to things that we never reacted to at all earlier in our lives. I had a severe reaction from a bee bite and I had never before been allergic to bees. Now I carry benedryl. Stress may be a cause...because of the recent loss of your mom.
I eagerly await an update.
Fran
Get to a doc/urgent care/dermatologist. No use being miserable. Your resistence is down and you need help now. Please don't let it get worse!
HUGS:so-sad:
My oldest daughter suffered from bouts with a rash that itched so badly. Her skin would become red and swollen as well. After years of these miserable bouts she found out that if she took an antihistamine the rash would go away. Hopefully, your rash will be as easy to gid rid of.
This is Monday, hope you are sitting in the doctor's office getting something for the rash.
Oh dear I hope you will be well soon. I broke out one time after I had dusted with a feather duster. Found out it was the dust. Benadryl only helped a little. Try to take it easy, Sharon
Oh my, sorry to hear about the rash! Hope the have found what is going on! Have a good week!
Even though you could be allergic to anything, there are usually some top suspects. I hope your doctor zeros in on the right one soon.
I found your site when I googled "Daylily rash"....My son picked one Saturday and broke out with a horrible rash on Sunday which has gotten progressively worse each day. Today he started steroids. Your lilys are gorgeous, but I wonder if they could be the source of the rash too!
