More from the Fair
When Chris and I were at the fair we went to the building where all the baked goods and other food stuffs, quilts, and other crafts in competition were judged. Years ago, these contests were what the fair was all about. Now it is mostly one booth after another trying to sell you something.... which is why I don't go to the fair most years. I'm glad they still have the competitions, even though they are now a minor part of the fair. It might even be fun to enter some of them someday.
Here is another video I took at the fair. These two goats were not going to let a fence stop them from butting heads.

Great shots...gotta love the Fair! State Fair of Texas doesn't start til the 29th
I love the fairs. Always have. My late sister in law, JoAnn, was an avid contributer to the fairs in her area (Baltimore). It was her passion -- she relished
the competition, the challenge of trying new categories, and the fellowship. She eventually became one of the judges. I should encourage her daughters to carry on their mom's tradition in some small way.
thanks for the pictures!
Oh, I'm glad you included the goats butting heads. That's great.
I bet your cinnamon rolls would WIN too. Wasn't it a shame how so much food went to waste because it only had one piece out of it for the judges and the rest just sat there in the cases slowly drying out.
That is so beautiful. I went to a local fall fair and was disappointed by the very small showing of home and handicrafts. Most of the building was taken over by commercial exhibits--life insurance and dollar store knick-knacks. Sadly, one fair that ran for over 130 years in our nearest town was not held at all due to lack of interest. There is little sense of community anymore.
those are so pretty i wish i could garden like that
1 thats cool!:sunny: thank you for showing those beautiful pictures to me !:wave:bye!!
