It's way too hot still. I've been staying in after about ten in the morning. These are gloriosa daisies with yellow cosmos behind. Both can take the heat much better than I can.

  • I thought of you today as I was deadheading my day lilies.  It took me a long time, but I don't have anywhere near the number of lilies you have.  How in the world do you stay on top of your garden?  I love the colors in this picture.

  • flowers, loving it way too hot, aren't just beautiful.  they're fierce!

  • Do you grow those from seed or transplants?  I need to get some for the larkspur bed.

  • @BLB - I grow the gloriosa daisies from seeds. Or I should say I did the first year. Now they seed themselves. They are annuals.

  • @BLB - Oh, I forgot to mention that the yellows cosmos are from seed, as well.

  • I love gloriosa daisies - they are just so cheerful!  Yup it's certainly been hot hot hot.  I'll happily take a cool down.

  • Dear Alice , I have just  checked Lola ' site . We were occasional readers . I read this awful news : died for two months . I confess this shocked me . I see again her in her library . She had a lot of books . I am very sad .
You were at her side for her last breath . This may be a solace for you .
She was a strong and kind woman loved by her two daughters .
Accept my  friend my sincere condolences .

    Michel
