Soft Cover is the name of the iris below. The next picture is my patio Clematis. It has done great this year.

The northeast corner of my backyard garden is alive with color right now -- with poppies, larkspur, and coreopsis. An orange poppy is next in front of white Love in a Mist.

I was so happy when the iris below bloomed today because I didn't think it had made it. Diamond Ring is its name. Ornamental Focus is the Daylily in the last picture. It is one of those rare daylilies that had a great bloom season in spring and fall.

It was very hot today -- in the high nineties. That is just way too hot for May. I worked out most of the morning, before it got too warm. Pulling weeds mostly. There are lots of them. Taking care of our puppy, Rosy Joy, has sure cut into my garden time. She's worth it, though.

  •  Sigh....... what a splendid sight.

  • The flowers are so beautiful.

It's way too hot here also and...no rain.  We need rain!

  • Your garden is glorious and that video is weird.   Ava

  • Tasty and beautiful photo's as always

  • I am always so impressed with the quality of your photos, your phenomenal memory, and the quirkiness of your "Find of the Day". I always look forward to your posts. Here we are having cooler than normal temps. If you we could share, a little of your warmth for a bit of my coolness.

  • The poppies this year have surprised me as well.  I have a bright, almost irridescent orange, and a large red.  The coreopsis did not bloom at all last year, then suddenly reappeared in strange places this year.....like right in the middle of my Oriental Lily.  I'm not sure how to "weed" it out without tearing up the lily which is just about to bloom.  I'll have to get a picture of all the wild flowers for xanga as soon as I finish journalling about the Arizona vacation.

  • Gee, I had no idea that poppies could be orange.   And I'm sure that Rosy Joy would agree that she's worth every minute of it.
