  • Tuesday Stuff

    Conjuration is the name of the bearded iris below. It has its first bloom on it today. After the decimation of my irises last year with a bacterial rot, I didn't know what survived and what didn't. I'm so glad this is one that made it. I love it.

    I posted one picture yesterday of the tropical amaryllis that is blooming now, but this one shows all eight blooms from the one bulb.

    I've also posted pictures of the Nearly Wild Rose. I'm really loving it.

    We took Rosie Joy to our vet this morning for the first time. He checked her over and declared her healthy in every way that he could tell. She got two shots and wasn't too happy about that. She hasn't felt too chipper today but I think that is just natural after shots -- for a puppy especially.

    Rosie chewed up a fireplace match tonight while we weren't looking. We found it in pieces, so I don't think she ate too much of it.. I hope she didn't ingest any pieces big enough to cause a problem. If I could change one thing about Rosie, it would be her inclination to eat anything and everything. It's a worry. She has oodles of toys to chew, but she doesn't limit herself to those.

  • What magical blooms!

    I hope Rosie Joy feels better tomorrow, those nasty shots make everyone feel bad, but better that than getting sick.  Don't feel too despondent about "puppy chew it all", we are dealing with "kitten poos in the bath" right now  .  So gross, I think I'll need to go back to her old litter.  Funny, it's always me that finds it too.....!!

  • Hopefully she will chew less as she gets olders. Puppies do love to chew everything.

  • Alice, your garden is beautiful.  I only just began planting flowers and I just wish they would fill up the garden more quickly.  Because the yard is so large, it seems like the plants are never big enough.

  • I am so glad that iris is a survivor, because it is indeed beautiful. I tis rewarding to be surrounded with so much beauty. Worth all the work. Love Mom
