Rosie Joy is almost ten months now, and recovering from her surgery on Monday. She felt pretty rocky for a couple days, and now it is mostly a matter of trying to keep her from jumping, running, and licking her incision. In a few days she should be back to her playful happy self. We are hoping that she will be like some female dogs after they are spayed, in that they tend to gain weight. She could stand a little meat on her bones. I took this picture today.

Rosie Joy Update
-
The way it's been going, I may not get around to posting before Thursday, so I've chosen a picture with a Thanksgiving theme. It was one of our nutcrackers this week in digital nuts.

It's been a busy time, but I think life now is about to settle down to something approaching normalcy. Our Thanksgiving will be small and simple, but I think that sounds just about right this year. I might just be getting lazy.

I've not only neglected my blog, but I've also neglected the garden of late, but it is about ready to be put to bed for the winter anyway. Just some cleanup work after we have another couple hard freezes, then very little until early spring.
Rosie joy is going to be spayed the Monday after Thanksgiving. I had waited longer than I wanted to, hoping that she would put on a little weight and have a cushion of fat if she doesn't eat for a while after the operation, but finally, it has become clear that she is just a Skinny Mini... and will probably remain that way. Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!

You know me. I don't let the fact that these antelope are probably indigenous to Africa keep me from putting them in the mountains of Washington State. They are not exactly native to the Oklahoma Zoo either, which is where I lifted them from. After all, I took both photographs (actually three, since the antelope were in two different photos), and all is fair in love and art.

Gorilla Gorilla
Gill and I went to the zoo today. It was nearly perfect weather for such an outing. These gorillas were having their lunch. I enhanced the photo, of course.

Autumn Sage and Asters
The garden needs a good cleanup since we got a couple of frosts. Perhaps this week I'll get to it. The Autumn Sage and Asters don't mind frost and are still pretty. This is an enhancement I did in Photoshop. I'm still having a lot of fun making photos look like paintings. You can see my galleries on pBase here.

I've been back for over a week...
There were lots of things waiting for me to do when we got back from Washington State, so I'm afraid Xanga was put on the back burner. We had a great time, however, and saw some absolutely awesome scenery. I took over 1500 photographs, but of course, I haven't kept that many -- just the better ones. There will be lots of images to play with -- my favorite thing to do. I added the deer to this picture I took on our way up to Rainier. The deer was from our trip last year in Northeast Oklahoma, but I think he looks right at home in Washington.
Here is a link to a slide show of almost 200 of my vacation shots... too many to look at, but you can quit any time:
