Candy Day
We got together today to make Candy. Chris and I have have pretty much adopted Gill as part of the family, so of course, she had to come if we were going to make candy again this year. We made far more than any of us needed, but it was fun. Candy Day(s) was a tradition started by Mom many years ago. We weren't really sure that we would continue the tradition after her death last May. After all, most of the candy was for her to give to her friends at the Retirement Center where she lived the last few years of her life. But we decided we'd scale way back and keep it going. It just wouldn't seem like Christmas without Candy Day. Gill helped us last year for the first time, which as it turned out was Mom's last. We thought of Mom many times today, but it wasn't with sadness, really. It was a good day.

Yes, it was a good day, but I'm exhausted. I really appreciate you picking out that picture of me. After viewing all the others of me, this was the best one to choose. Thank You.
I'm so glad you decided to do Candy Day this year too.:love::love:
Hurrah! I had wondered if you were doing this again. I will sneak over to Gill's site again and see if it is as sweet there as it is here. Traditions are important to carry on....these are truly "sweet" memories.
Looks like fun!! Have a wonderful Christmas!
Too bad you can't post the candy here for us to take..lol.....Glad it was a good day for you all...
Happy New Year.
Candy Day sounds like such a great idea. I always have fond memories of making candy with my mom, even when the old electric blender started smoking while making divinity!
Those 4 photo give a impression of intense life
Love
