Just when most daylilies are packing it in, this striking variety, Dainty Eyes, is still putting up new scapes loaded with buds. It's been blooming since June 20th, and evidently will be for some time. I bought a lot of daylilies last fall and early this spring that are supposed to be rebloomers and extended bloomers, but they are new plants and I don't expect too many of them to actually rebloom this year. I think next year many of them will, however. My goal is to have daylilies blooming from mid May until frost. I'm sure June will always be the big month for daylilies, but it is nice to have at least a few continue into the fall.

Great overhead shot of "Dainty Eyes" which is not at all a strong enough name for this beautiful YELLOW daylilly!
I have thought about putting more lily's in my garden.
