  • Morning Glories

     MorningGloriesLightBlue
With the cooler temperatures, the morning glory vines are looking great. Not a lot in the garden is looking good these days, so I am especially enjoying them. I had them growing in several places last year, but since they tend to take over, I pulled up almost all of the seedlings I found early on. I did let the volunteers grow in three places this year, and as chance would have it, each location has one of the three colors from last year.

Chris and I will be staying Monday and Tuesday at a charming Bed and Breakfast in downtown Oklahoma City. Since she is in the middle of her house being built, it is taking the place of our annual sister trip this year. We will take in the zoo, the national memorial, a couple museums, Myriad gardens, bricktown and.other places visitors to the city go. My digging project will be waiting for me when we get back home, but it will be nice to just be a tourist in OKC for three days. It is always fun to spend time with my sister, and I'm looking forward to it.

  • What dazzling color! Have fun on your in town outting! :goodjob:

  • The morning glories are----glorious!  We had a couple strays come up that must have reseeded themselves.  But they didn't really get going until late, and aren't doing so good.

Ken and I were talking this morning.  If we had left on our trip to AZ as planned, we would have been going through OKC this morning (Sat.) around 10.  We postponed our trip until March, when Ken figures his leg will feel stronger.  I have already been given orders by Ken that there will be no visiting Xangans along the way.  He is right.  If I visited everyone I would like to, it would take about 3 weeks to get to Scottsdale!!  It would have been so neat to meet you, Chris and your mom.  I would have loved to see your garden!  Of course, not much would be showing in March!  lol

Have a fun time with Chris.  Sometimes we don't take the time to see the sights right around us---we always want to go farther away.

  • I used to grow morning glories on a bamboo tepee which I would build. One year I had some ornate iron chairs which I allowed them to grow on. They are lots of fun and fill in nicely!:coolman:

  • I always read,  look at the pretties and drool.  Don't have a lot to say,
and guess I just said it.

P.S.  please say hello to Lola for me.

  • Have fun; we're looking forward to the photos!

  • Lovely pics (as always). The purple ones are wild here.  I used to live in a house with only three walls and I planted the blue morning glory on the balcony to come into the bedroom and twist itself through the beams.  It attracted lots of butterflies.  It was lovely to wake up to in the morning.
