Mardi Gras Parade and other daylilies

    Mardi Gras Parade
Because I am still digging clay from the flower bed that will be largly planted in daylilies, I have had to pot up the new daylilies that keep arriving. I ordered about fifty of them, and most of them will go in the bed where I'm digging.  I have the pots setting around in different places in the garden. I water them regularly, and hope they will still be in good shape in a couple weeks, when I should be ready to plant them.

Many of the new daylilies are extended bloomers and repeat bloomers, but I was amazed when one of them -- barely more than a sprout-- put up a scape with a bud and actually bloomed in the pot. This one is named Mardi Gras Parade.

RYC: yes that is one of a half flat of pansies I planted last weekend. Three pots in back for seasonal color. I plan to go get more to add on to what is already in front...when they all come back next spring it should be a bright splash of color around the yaupon & boxwood

  • 50!!??  And Ken complained when I bought 4!  Well, not really complained---just wondered where on earth we were going to put them.  No problem--I can always find room.

  • She is gorgeous and should do well in the amended bed. Lady just looking at the picture of you digging out the bed makes me tired. I've still got about 6X6 spot to do. Love the tile your DH put in your entry way. It really looks good:goodjob:Gave me a thought to tie mine all together when I get around to redoing floor.
