  • Projects

I planted these Maximillian Sunflowers in the spring of last year at the edge of the ravine behind our property. They are growing in a place that is hard for the mowers to get to, so they have survived. It was a windy day and they were blowing around when I took this shot.

Below is a shot my husband took of me while I was digging on my project today. I figure that I'm well over half done at this point.

My husband just finished with a project too. He laid tile over the cement on our little front porch. We had the tile left over from the construction of our house, and it seemed a shame to not use it here. I think it looks so much better than the cement.

  • Beautiful flowers, and what a great shot of them!  The entry looks lovely, tiled!  And you look so industrious and... cute in those overalls working the garden! :goodjob:  What a great deal of work!

  • I LOVE your entry.  Wish we could do that here, but our front porch is too exposed, and with all the freezing and thawing here in WI, it wouldn't work.  It looks so much better than plain concrete.  Bet Chris will do something similar with her new house!

You certainly are a glutton for punishment, aren't you?  That is a LOT OF SOIL YOU ARE TAKING OUT>(COMPUTER IS ACTING UP_AM NOT SHOUTING>  OUR SOIL IS THE OPPOSITE HERE NEAR LAKE MICHIGAN:  ALL SAND>  WHICH MEANS LOTS OF WATERING IN SUMMER>
NOW MUST SHUT DOWN AND RESTART THIS DUMB COMPUTER TO GET THIS CAPITALIZATION TO STOP>
